PDIK – Pneumatic Drop in Kit Standard – a set of components that allows converting an AEG rifle into a gas-powered rifle. It is a cheap and very effective way of upgrading.
The conversion kit is designed for sniper rifles where long range and precision shots are required.
Mechanics:
The conversion kit has an independently moving nozzle – just like in the AEG rifles. The position of the nozzle is not directly linked to the position of the gas supply element. This solution ensures that – when the conversion unit fires a shot (when the gas starts moving towards the bullet) the nozzle is stationary in the hop-up chamber. Due to this, better focusing and precision of the shot is possible here.
This type of nozzle has a big advantage – it is located axially relative to the hop-up eraser. This solution ensures that the rubber wears less and is usually better sealed.
PDiK works in semi-automatic mode. This is the only mode available in the conversion kit.
The conversion kit is largely adapted to the needs of the sniper. Since quite high fps are possible here, there is no automatic mode.
When using the appropriate controller, it is possible to achieve very stable, high fps. The performance is adjusted via the controller. The operating pressure is in the range of 7-16 bar.
Advantages:
- No electronics (weather resistance)
- No batteries
- Precision of the FPS
- No fully automatic mode
- Adjustable FPS
- Compatible with standard AEG parts (nozzle, trigger, selector plate)
- External power supply (many shots)
- Instant reaction to the trigger
Disadvantages:
- No fully automatic mode
- External supply of compressed air from a bottle
Examples of speed (barrel length 550 mm, bullet 0.2 g):
8 bar – 150 m/s (492 fps)
10 bar – 165 m/s (541 fps)
12 bar – 182 m/s (597 fps)
16 bar – 203 m/s (666 fps)
18 bar – 213 m/s (699 fps)
Set includes:
- PDiK
- Over 1.2 m inlet hose (e.g. 6 mm)
Not included in the kit:
- Trigger
- Trigger lock
- Selector plate
